Cooper's Court is managed by the staff at Don Gratton House which is a short bus ride away, while Cooper's Court itself is only a minute's walk from Mile-End underground station which has a connection to the University of Arts London main campus in Davies Street. The residence comprises 54 en-suite rooms arranged in 11 cluster flats. Although one of our smallest residences it enjoys most of the communal facilities available in our larger buildings.
For the safety and security of residents Cooper's Court has an entry card system and key access to the flats and rooms. Reception is open part time - opening times are displayed at reception. At other times a full reception service is available at Don Gratton House.
Since 1st July 2007 all of our residences operate a No Smoking policy throughout the buildings in line with the new UK Government legistlation.
Shared Facilities
Rooms are arranged in cluster flats of five bedrooms. Each flat is self-contained and only the residents sharing the flat have an entry key. There is a coin operated laundry and a bike store onsite for residents to use.
Within each flat is a shared kitchen equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, freezer, sink and a microwave oven. Ample storage space is provided and each resident has their own lockable food storage cupboard. Adjoining the kitchen is a large living area provided with lounge chairs for exclusive use of the residents within each flat.
The kitchen and communal areas are cleaned on a weekly basis. A vacuum cleaner is provided so residents can clean their own rooms.
Rooms
Each resident is provided with a study bedroom including an en-suite shower, toilet and basin. A bed, desk, chair, bookcase, wardrobe and drawers are in the room and there are electrical sockets for residents to use their own computer, reading lamp, radio etc. Residents have an individual key to their room.
Bed linen is not supplied but is available for purchase at the residence office and shops located a short distance away.
The rooms vary slightly in size and shape but are generally around 4 metres by 2.5 metres. The bed and mattress provided are a standard single size of 2metres by 90 centimeters.
Location
Cooper's Court is close to Mile End Park which has the Regent's Canal running next to it. There are cafes and convenience stores next to the Underground station in Bow Road.
Mile-End underground station is just around the corner and is serviced by three main underground lines including the Central Line which goes directly to Bond Street and the University of Arts London main campus. The District Line runs the whole width of London, with convenient stops at St James Park, Victoria mainline station, Earls Court, and the beautiful Kew Gardens in the West of London.

In the shared living areas: table with chairs, easy chairs, curtains.
Mail: Each cluster flat has its own postbox located by the main entrance to the building. Residents will need to arrange for parcels to be delivered as reception is open part time.
Heating: A central heating system provides hot water to each flat and individual wall mounted electrical heaters are located in each room operated by residents. This is included in the rent price.
Hot water: A central boiler provides hot water throughout the building. This is included in the rent.
Laundry: A communal self-service laundry is provided with washing machines and dryers.
Things to bring with you: bedding(duvet, sheets, pillows),television, kettle, kitchen equipment (pots, pans, plates, cutlery) computer, towels.
Insurance: A block halls insurance cover is provided by Cover4Students.com. This is included in the rent price. Additional cover is also available for a separate fee.
