Accommodation
The front of Alliance House is a majestic grade II listed building which used to be a centre for the China Inland Mission. The building has been fully restored and opened in October 2004 with additional accommodation provided by four innovatively designed modern resident blocks.
For the safety and security of residents Alliance House has an entry card system, 24-hour staff and CCTV cameras in and around the building.
Since 1st July 2007 all of our residences operate a No Smoking policy throughout the buildings in line with the new UK Government legistlation.
Flats
One bedroom, self-contained flats
The listed building has four self-contained one bed flats. The bedrooms have a single bed, wardrobe, desk and bookcase
along with a data point and telephone. The living/dining rooms are furnished with dining table and chairs, a sofa and floor
standing uplighter lamp. All the flats have a fully fitted kitchen with a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, sink and cupboards, and a fully equipped shower room with
WC and washbasin. This accommodation is suitable for single students only.
Two and Three Bed Flats
This building also has four three-bed flats and three two-bed flats. These flats are great if you are a group of friends who wish to share together in more apartment style living. If you wish to take up this option please select the single shared option when accepting your offer then contact Alliance to arrange for you to share with your chosen friends. Each person will need to contact the hall stating their names and the name/names of those they wish to share with. The bedrooms all have a single bed, wardrobe, desk and bookcase along with a personal data point and telephone. The living/dining rooms are furnished with dining table and chairs, a sofa and floor standing uplighter lamp. All the flats have a fully fitted kitchen with a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, sink and cupboards. All flats have a fully equipped bathroom with shower over the bathtub, WC and washbasin.
Telephone services in all flats are provided by Keycom and an internet service is provided by City University.
Rooms
The single en-suite rooms are arranged in cluster flats with five to eight residents per flat. All rooms have a bed, mattress, desk, chair, wardrobe, shelves and drawers. There are electrical points for residents to use their own desk light, radio etc. and data points for internet access. Telephone services are provided by Keycom and an internet service is provided by City University . All rooms have en-suite showers WC and washbasin.
Each flat has a shared kitchen and dining area for the use of residents within the flat. All kitchen areas are fitted with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dining table, chairs and individual cupboards for residents.
Location
Alliance House is on Newington Green, which has a variety of local shops, cafes and bars and a pleasant community atmosphere. There are regular bus services to central London and the West End.

Mail: Residents have a key to the letter mailbox for their flat. Parcels are signed for by residence staff.
Heating: Central heating is provided throughout all buildings. This is included in the rent.
Hot water: A central boiler provides hot water throughout the building. This is included in the rent.
Laundry: A communal self-service laundry is provided with washing machines, dryers and an ironing board.
Things to bring with you: bedding(duvet, sheets, pillows),television, kettle, kitchen equipment (pots, pans, plates, cutlery) computer, towels.
Parking: There are no parking facilities on-site but on move in and move out days you will have 30 minutes to unload and load your belongings. If you wish to bring a car to London you will need to apply for a residents' parking permit through Islington Council and park on the street around Newington Green.
Insurance: A block halls insurance cover is provided by Cover4Students.com. This is included in the rent price. Additional cover is also available for a separate fee.
